So far this morning, I have made some major progress on the car stereo computer mod. I got it all wired up and tested. Faith No More’s King For A Day sounds damn good coming out of that old beastie of a tape deck. I was surprised at how easy it was to wire the power and sound to the computer. With the use of some extra pc cabling I had, and an old CDROM audio wire, the job was relatively simple. So hopefully this afternoon the actual surgery on the PC will begin. Chris said he’d help me with that part. I’m not too good with power tools and that sort of thing so he’s gonna cut the case for me and then we gotta find a way to mount the deck into the front and keep it in there so it won’t slide around. THAT will be fun.
SO, as soon as the deck is installed, I’ll have some snazzy pictures for all of you to see. Many of you may go “why?” but don’t ask. It’s a geek thing and we must do snazzy things to our boxes and this ain’t been done before so it should be neat to see.
