Ok, so ever since Christmas, I’ve been noticing that the amount of cash in my chequing account seems to keep growing but the amount coming out for bills seems less and less. Now, it seems like I might have some extra cash on hand but it does seem a bit fishy since none of the bills have changed really.
After getting my Mastercard bill today, was very surprised to see the balance as being a hell of a lot more than it should be. So I went through the statement and found some stuff that I had not paid on by mistake. That was fine. But it still didn’t account for almost $1500 of extra cash gathering dust. So, I did a bit more digging and it seems that my auto-bill-pay option at Royalbank wasn’t paying the credit card per week. It was doing it per month. So there were in fact 11 payments missed since the end of October.
So, it saddened me that I wasn’t just getting extra cash in my pocket, but it did feel damn good to slap a $1000 payment on my credit card to bring it down to where it should be.
Things are good today. Lots going on including it being damn cold!
