VAJ Magazine is now closed, for good!

As you can see by the title, it’s pretty self-explanatory. I’ve been pondering the idea of closing down that website now for a few weeks. It’s something that’s been on my mind and today seemed liked the right day to do it. It’s sort of a long story, but not really, as to why I’m closing it down, but if you really do want to know more, feel free to read on…

Last year I had a lot of people tell me I should start the magazine up again. There was some renewed interest, and to be honest, I had thought about it myself a lot. After having heard it mentioned to me enough times, I thought I’d give it a try and see if it was really worth doing again.

At first, it was. It was a lot of fun. Getting the site up and writing articles and all of that stuff was great fun, but it got old really quick for me. I didn’t feel like going to shows, and I didn’t feel like posting articles. It was a lot about time. I work full-time, come home, do my own thing, and I just didn’t seem to have the time to do it. Buying a house didn’t help either. I mean, I’m SO happy to have my own home, but I just didn’t seem to have the interest in the magazine like I did years before.

I think this time I wanted more people to do the writing while I was maintaining things, but I wasn’t able to get enough people out there to do just that. And truthfully, it’s sort of lazy of me to think it would happen.

So after seeing the site dead for awhile, I posted an ad on the Moncton Locals newsgroup hoping more people would want to write reviews and I got one out of it, and that was it. Back to being dead.

So, VAJ had it’s time. It’s a very important and memorable part of my past, but that’s where it will remain. I’m glad that I tried it again because now I know that I’m not really up to running all of that again and I’m quite content with my other projects.

Thanks to everyone who read the site. It was greatly appreciated!
