The short week starts

I posted yesterday with more news but today since it’s the start of the work week, I’ll post yet again, even though I don’t have a hell of a lot to say.

So I’m a little annoyed at the fact that I still have not gotten the credit on my mastercard for the Homepod I sent back. They had it in their hands on the 19th of August and nothing has shown up yet. I’ve called them 3 times and sent them an email this morning. I’m going to try and call later today as that’s $400 that’s owed to me and I want it back.

As I indicated in earlier posts, the cabinet is going well, however the computer that will power the applications is not going well. See, I took the old motherboard that was in my machine and put it in a new case to use as a media PC in the computer room. The mb is fine but I think the RAM is bad because it keeps acting very weird and will only boot on occasion and I don’t have any newer RAM to use so I may just go buy some for my machine, and put my old RAM in the cabinet PC.

The other problem is not much of a problem now but was yesterday. See, I don’t bother with 3.5″ floppy drives anymore since pretty much everything boots of CD now. The problem is I don’t have a bootable copy of Windows 98 SE at home and tried to run the install of 98 running FreeDOS and that just blew up in my face. I could have probably messed with it and got it to work but I figured the best way for me to do this is to bring the 98 CD I have at work home and use it to install the OS and be done with it. Problem solved. Why am I going with Windows 98 and not Linux? Simply put, I know Windows better. Yes, I could do it in Linux and I could get it running but for me, I know Windows better, and I have all of the tools for Windows, and wrote my own front end for Windows so that will work for me best.

Roy is supposed to be in town today. I got a message from him yesterday that he’d be here today so I’m going to try and get him to come by the house for a visit. Dunno if he’ll want to see any of the boys but if anyone’s up to a little hangout somewhere, let me know.

Regardless folks, I think I’m going to go babble in a rant or something now.
