You folk shave NO idea how psyched I am right now!
So here’s the deal. I am going to now have a weekly column in the Metro Marquee magazine which is here in Moncton. It’s a local mag but I will be publishing a computer/gadget/geek type article every week and it even pays (not much but it is something). I’m so frigging excited. I haven’t had the chance to REALLY write anything since the days of VAJ and although VAJ got big, it did not have the wide audience something like this does. Read on for more juicy tidbits.
So the deal was, I wrote a letter to the Marquee regarding something they published in their sex column and the editor emailed me back, telling me that he wanted to publish my letter. I got all psyched up so I asked a guy on MonctonLocals.Com who I know works for Metro Marquee, if they had ever thought of doing a computer type article.
He said they had thought about it a bit but didn’t go anywhere with it but did want something like that. He gave me a few ideas and said I should write a sample article. He said they were thinking about gadgets or tech stuff.
This morning, being slow, I sat down and reviewed (sort of) 2 gadget type things and sent it off and sure enough the guy gets back to me, wanting me to call him at his office. He says his editor loves the article and they want to know if I want to run it every week. I said sure.
So now, I have to have an article in to them every week before Friday, and it will run in the edition the following week.
This is WAY awesome. It’s a great way to get my name out there a little bit and you never know where it might lead. I’ve always had this hidden interest in writing and this is perhaps a way to get some of it out there. WOO HOO!
