Old man winter shits on Moncton

Damn it’s cold in my house this morning!!!!

Power went out around 6am I think and we got it back about 20 mins ago or so which is good because it’s fricken cold in here now. Thank God for heat as it is starting to warm up in here now. I turned on Tamara’s computer as well as my own to help generate some heat in the computer room which is where I will likely spend the bulk of the day since I have major work to do.

How was your holidays? Mine was damn good. Christmas Eve saw me and Tamara head off to her mom’s for the big family thing on her side which was cool. A little noisy at times but that’s ok as it was expected. We had a damn fine feast of chilli of which I chowed down good on. Christmas morning saw me and Tamara get up shortly after 7ish and open our gifts. I got some kickass stuff including new wireless headphones, The SIms 2 game, an AWESOME Coke fridge, and some ties, DVD’s, fart machine, and lots of other stuff.

Later that morning we headed to my mom’s for brunch where we opened more gifts and these wicked stocking type things my mom made. They aren’t stockings but giant mits! VERY cool. We got a new toaster, crock pot, and a bunch of other goodies. Mom and my grandmother both cried at their videos, as did me and Tamara. They REALLY liked them and I was very happy about that. I gotta get a copy of it on VHS for my gran but all is good.

That after noon we went to Tamara’s mom’s for Christmas dinner where I sat back and watched the family open their gifts. Man they got spoiled which was way cool. The look on Tamara’s mom’s face was priceless when she saw the snowmen-having-sex wrapping paper. Man that was funny. Plus she loved her aquarium I got her which I was really happy about.

Boxing Day saw us watch Pirates of the Caribean (sp?) which was way cool and then we headed off to mom’s for yet another Christmas dinner with my side of the family. Mom’s meatballs kicked ass and it was nice to see some of the family there.

In bad news, we discovered that we have to move the large 55gallon aquarium into the basement because it’s causing stress fractures on the floor and they are noticeable now. So we decided to start moving the fish and everything last night. We got them all moved into a smaller tank and have about half of the water drained out of the big tank. The rest will be done today likely and then we’ll move the fish later in the week as two moves in two days would be way too stressful on them. We figure we’ll lose a few fish in the process anyway but we want to minimize the damage.

Anyways, if you have any good Christmas stories, post ’em, otherwise, I’m on my way to starting my work day. TTYL folks and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
