With Tamara gone for the day, yesterday was basically filled with movies and sleep. She went on her little getaway with the girls and I went to Kent’s, got myself a sausage, and went to see Elektra. Now me, personally, I’d never even heard of the character but did see Daredevil and Jennifer Garner did look mighty fine. So, why not go see a whole movie with her in it right? Not much else going on that day so figured I might as well catch a flick.
That led to me coming home, vegging for a short period of time, and then I became more or less glued to the TV set in the basement as I watched the DVD’s of Clerks, The Stepford Wives, Superise Me, and Harold & Kumar go to White Castle. I got Clerks because I have heard a lot of things about this movie and was curious about the start of Kevin Smith’s filim career. Interesting movie. I enjoyed it. The Stepford Wives was sort of an off choice but I had heard it was kind of funny and weird at the same time. It was. I’m glad I didn’t pay $10 to see it in the theatre though. Supersize Me had been on my mind for a long time so I figured I’d finally rent it. It did show an interesting side to the fast food industry, particularily McDonald’s (who is the focus of the film) but some of what went on in that movie just seemed, well, fake. It was a good documentary and I did enjoy watching it but I had doubts about some of what he said and did. The last movie was something I had heard about and see previews for and it was funny, but by the time I got to watching this, it was getting late, so I don’t think I appreciated it as much.
Once the movies were done, I watched a bit of TV would ended up being a documentary (short one) about porn. Then some CSI, and then the last part of “Clueless”. Man, I was a total potato yesterday.
Oddly enough at 3am, I decided to go for a drive, and didn’t get home until about 4am when I was pretty useless. I had taken a night time Contac and waited for it to kick in and by the time I got out to Irishtown Rd, I was feeling pretty messed up so it was time to come home. Slept in til like 12 noon and then figured I should return the movies and get some food.
Fun weekend eh? Today I need to do some work, for work, as I have a pile of reading to do and I really should just get through it even though I have absolutely no ambition today what so ever, but that’s ok, because it IS the weekend and I am allowed to be lazy.
OH! I do have other news. I finally got a hold of someone regarding my issues with my previous employer and I am now being sent some paperwork to file an official complaint. I really doubt I’ll end up getting what I am deserved but it is worth a little bit of extra work to see what can be done.
*yawn* Perhaps I should go do something… any suggestions?
