It had to happen eventually. My drive bays in my computer case are now all full. 6 5.25 bays filled with drives and other goodies. Man, talk about a lot of crap. In fact, I think there’s actually one more thing that I want to put in it but no longer have room. I may have to reconsider how things are layed out on my beast. Anyways, it’s all good. I actually bought a new LG dual layer DVD burner and it’s black so it actually looks good with the black case. I do have to admit though that I have pondered getting a second case and offloading some of the gear onto a second machine simply because there’s way too much in one machine. I’ll have to ponder that a little bit as I’m not sure how exactly I’d work it out.
In other geek news, the laptop picture frame project is moving forward. I managed to get the software installed and working. The version of Acdsee I have on it is working very nice and now the laptop boots directly into the slide show software. Now, I just have to find a way to get a wooden frame around the screen and have somewhere to put it so I can have these pictures running. The picture frame itself should not be a big deal as I can go to Walmart and buy one there and then just find a way to mod the laptop so the frame will stay put. The biggest problem is the inability to remove the screen from the laptop. If I could detach the LCD from the base, I’d be better off, but unfortunately, due to the way the chasis is made, this ain’t going to happen so I think I’ll stick to plan A and just find something I can hide the laptop in.
Today is work day. Sort of. We have to do a water change on the three tanks here at the house and Tamara seems to think that it might not be such a bad idea to start changing the water every two weeks. I’m not overly keen on it but she’s probably right as we have seen some issues with a few fish downstairs. I’ll test the water today and see how things are and maybe that will yield some good info. Also got to do the cages for the critters as they stink. I also have some work to do for that silly thing called my job. I have some chapters to read and some studying to do. I have been putting off booking my next cert but I am seriously considering booking two, and one of them being for this week. From what I have read, the Inet+ cert ain’t too bad and when I did a test exam of over 200 questions, I got an 80% so that’s a good sign. The ISA server test will be somewhat hardxer as I have not been able to find a self-test software program for that specific cert. I have consdered buying one but I dunno if it would be a good idea. Regardless, I have work to get done today so now I am going to start with some breakfast. Have a good short week folks!
