That’s apparently the story I heard tonite at supper. Very interesting.
I checked my regular email today on break to find that a guy I used to work with was back in Moncton for a few days and wanted to do the supper thing. Seeing as I had not seen him in awhile, I figured why not.
So I meet up with him and he’s telling me all about the new stuff he’s working on and making me insanely jealous of the major amount of hardware this guy gets to play with but it’s all good. Then he wants to know what the story was with my departure from my old job. Apparently, he had heard that I gave my notice, and then folks from the head office heard something about me writing something on here and instructed my former boss to fire me. Well, that was VERY MUCH NOT THE CASE! Anyone that was around at that time knew what really happened so I enlightened him and he figured as much anyways as he knew me and figured it couldn’t have been that way anyway. It was interesting to hear from him. It was also neat to hear that apparently I have been missed as they’ve been charged through the nose by a local vendor for things like “resetting network settings” and “replacing a video card”, etc. Basic stuff so he’s here to help automate the process of remote administration. Kinda funny. Plus no one else knows how to use the Linux box I set up so he’s on the case. It’s all good. He’s a great guy and it was nice to catch up and find out how things are going. Very cool.
In other news, I have bad gas. Man this room stinks some bad and I gotta go hit the books for some studying tonite. I have to get it in before the race comes on at 10 so I want to get through a pile of questions first. So with that said, I’m on my way to start studying.
