I was going to post earlier but I never had the chance. I got up this morning and allergies were severe so I decided it was best to take a Benedryl to help get some relief. Unfortunately, the side effects are not the best. I ended up with a major case of the sleepies so I was not all there this morning. I got through my lecture but when I sat down, was a bit doped out. I kept thinking it was Thursday, not Tuesday. By the afternoon, I was in way better shape.
Did some major work in the computer room and I am taking a little break. Did some cleaning up and managed to get some stuff put back where they should be, and even got the phone hooked back up in here. Discovered the GI Joe phone has seen better days. When you use the receiver, it’s got a nasty sound to it. Maybe a bad ground or something. Might try and crack it open and see if I can fix that whore. I am due for a new phone though so maybe I’ll look into something cool.
We’ve been cleaning up around here on and off all week in anticipation of having at least a few visitors this Saturday night. We want the place at least tolerable so we’re trying to get things cleaned up. The basement is the biggest thing as it needs a good vacuum and a little tidying up. All will be ready for the guests on Saturday.
So yeah, I mentioned very briefly yesterday about my dad. Called him and he was there and spoke to him. The latest full update was that he has passed all of his tests and only has one more left. Thursday he goes in to see if the insulin pump will actually work on his body. All the tests say he is good, so we’ll see what happens. See, if the pump works, then he can get the Alberta provincial government to pay for the pump and his move out here. That’s what the big delay is. If he can’t get the pump, he’ll say fuck it and pay his own way here. But I mean if he can get this thing for nothing (normally around $5000) and a free trip out here, why not. Dunno if I mentioned it before or not but he’s a diabetic so he takes insulin on a regular basis. This pump automatically releases his required dosage into his body, without the need of a needle. It goes straight through the skin. Very cool.
So anyways, he is supposed to get the results on Friday and said he would call and let me know one way or the other. I told him the wedding was on the 22nd so it gives him a little extra incentive to be here by then. I hope. 🙂
On the wedding side, plans are moving forward and all is going good. So for now, I gotta go move some wood and get details from Ben about a fitting.
