What a great weekend!
Let’s see. Friday night was not at all what I thought it would be. I was actually expecting to get out of class early where it was an exam day and all but I got out earlier than I normally do but not as early as I would have liked but it must have been written in the stars as I spent that evening at my recently discovered brother’s home. Man, that sounds weird to say. Anyway, yeah, he saw that I was behind him on Hillsborough rd and flagged me down to come in and I spent that evening visiting with him and his family. Tamara came over and we had supper there. Great people. It was nice to sort of get that first meeting out of the way even though we already knew each other. It was pretty weird but still very good. I am very glad we went over. 🙂
Yesterday, we did a pile of running around and got my tux fitted. Ben couldn’t make it and so he’s making his own arrangements but I think I might go visit him this week anyway as I want to make sure there are going to be no problems down the road 😉 We also went out to Parlee for a swim where the water was beautifully warm and disgustingly gross. Lots of seaweed and dead flies. VERY rare for Parlee so we just soaked in some rays and then me and Tamara along with mom, Tiny, and the grand-parental, went to Captain Dan’s where we had a kickass supper. I also swear that the waitress there is Stephanie from Survivor. Freaky. Anyway, came hom, watched Airplane 2 (which rocked!!!) and slept.
Today was also a great day. We went out to Igloo for breakfast with Tamara’ brother and his wife (Dave & Melanie) and came home and got the fish tanks all cleaned up. They were severely due. Tamara did some major work on the one downstairs and it looks fabulous as it always does when she does her little magic. Chris & Angela came by this afternoon which was awesome. I don’t see them very often so I should try and make a point of having them over a lot more. That was cool. Did a bit of wedding talk and such and all of the normal things. Tamara took off, and I worked on Bob.
Why did I work on it? Well, interestingly enough, Bob will be attending the wedding. Sort of. He’ll be at the reception. We had the idea that since it’s a Halloween theme, he could guard the guestbook and I had the idea that since we’re doing pumpkins and autumn stuff, I’d put him in coveralls so I spent the last hours or so figuring out how I was going to put that stuff on him and sure enough, I found a way. Putting pants on Bob is not easy because he still is based on an old lamp and so I had to find a way to put the coveralls on him through the base which was not the easiest task in the world but none the less, I got it to work.
The photo you see here is incomplete as he still needs a straw hat and maybe some kind of badass work boots. He’s never really had any serious feet anyway and won’t be visible from anywhere but behind the guest book table anyway but it will be cool.
Rolling Stones is next weekend. I plan on taking a little drive up to the concert site before the show to see what it all looks like before everything goes insane next week. What a week for concerts too though eh? Thursday is Avril Lavigne and Saturday is the Stones. It’s going to be one hell of a party.
Plus, the holiday Monday, we’re having a big thing here at the house with the family. That should be way cool.
Anyways folks, I am going to close this for now. I need to find a piece of food or some sort of nourishment. I am sort of bouncing right now since I had some Bawls today. Man, 10x the caffeine of regular coffee. Insane. Might have to invest in some of that stuff 🙂
