What a good weekend.

First off, we had the staff party on Friday night and although it wasn’t super fantastic, it was cool. We had some food, prizes, free drinks, and some chatting. Nice night. Serious badass storm on the way home though. Saunder’s Inn is much smaller than I thought but all was good. When we got home, we enjoyed some fire, watched the Amazing Race finale (Yay for Linzes!) and crashed.

Yesterday was a little bit of this and that. Did a bit of shopping, had my Saturday sausage, and then came home to veg and actually fell asleep til sometime after 7ish. Tamara was supposed to have friends over but that fell through so we sort of vegged, watched a bit of tube and that was it for the night.

Today, we did a pile of shopping and got some photos done including some very funny ones of Tamara and her brothers. See, we wanted to give some wedding photos as gifts as Christmas and when we went through them, we found 3 photos of Tamara’s brothers. Each brother in a serious close up of just their face with this stupid grin. So Tamara figured she’d get them printed and give them to her mom. Well, while we are at Costco getting everything ready, I said it would be funny if she put them in a frame all together and gave it as a gift at Christmas. Tamara thought it was funny but she said it would be better if she had a photo of herself to go along with it. So, she digs out her digital camera and we took one right there at Costco and it came out great. We had that one printed and now Tamara’s mom will have a seriously funny photo frame with picturees, for Christmas. I can’t wait to see the look on her face.

I got very annoyed with myself and my inability to find a good gift for Tamara’s mom but I think I may have found something that will suit her fine. I hope.

4.5 days of work left before the two week hiatus and man, I need it.

In other news, I got an email from some company in Vancouver who was looking for PHP programmers. If I wanted to move all the way out there, I might consider it, but Vancouver is probably the last place in the world I would want to live. Too much damn rain. Now if it was Victoria, it would be a whole other story.

I have only heard back from Ken regarding a confirm on the 27th for poker. Moonie said he’s not sure and Eric and C, what are your plans? Please let me know. If anyone else is interested, please let me know. We put a poker table set thingy on layaway so we’ll have that for the 27th. Will be muchos fun. Nice break during the holidays.

I also started working with Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 for our wedding video. Ulead Mediastudio 7 is acting all flaky and I might go back to it, but I thought I would try Premiere, again. I do have this weird thing though. I can view the video clips themselves but any sequences I create have this very weird, high pitched whine instead of the audio. Don’t know if it is some sort of conversion problem with my source video or what. Very weird. It plays the actual files fine in the clipper but won’t play any created sequences right. If I figure it out, I may stick with Premiere, otherwise, I’ll go back to Ulead’s crashes but jut save a LOT! Still though, nothing beats Encore. What a piece of software.
