Wow. With all of this time off, you’d think I would be posting everyday. Well alas, I decided to post something today.
The time off has actually been quite uneventful. I have done very little and I suspect I will continue to do so while I can. Fact is, to have about a month off, three weeks of it without job worry, it very nice. I’m catching up on some old Star Trek episodes, vegging out, and just enjoying the fact that I am not having to worry about much right now.
Of things job related, I’m off to Fredericton next week to write a test. Not really necessary but with things being as laid back as they have been, it can’t hurt me any.
I managed to communicate with Proimetric regarding my old Microsoft tests. It appears Microsoft thinks I have one MCP ID while Prometric thinks otherwise. They issued my old exams under my new MCP but oly one of them is showing up on my transcript at the MCP site. So tomorrow, I’ll contact Prometric again, and see if they can move it again. Plus, I can’t schedule any new exams until they have this fixed because the last thing I want is my new tests to not go towards my MCSA/MCSE. You’d think it wouldn’t be this complicated. Frig sakes.
Me and Tamara started working on a puzzle. We put out all of the pieces on the air hockey table and started putting it together. We have the whole frame pieced together but beyond that, it’s a bit tricky. It should be a nice looking puzzle when we are done.
Speaking of things downstairs, I have been contemplating making some changes to my MAME cabinet. As it stands now, the cabinet simply has a computer on the inside that is sitting in a case. I am actually thinking about taking the pieces out of the case, and simply mounting the components to the inside of the box. I know that in some regards, this would make my life a bit easier. Plus, I am thinking of removing the speakers from their housing, and wiring my own volume control into the cabinet itself so if I want to turn the sound down, I can simply use an external control, instead of having to open the coin door, and reach inside to turn the volume down. Maybe I’ll take a good look at it today. Last thing I want to do is start on something like that and leave it. Maybe I’m just trying to find things to do.
I did put some more CD’s on the ceiling in my computer room but I ran out of No More Nails and need to pick up some more. Fact is, cash is tight until payday (next Friday) so I’m trying not to spend anything if I don’t need to.
Oh yes! I had a flash from the past last night. *shudder* The phone rang and it was a woman that I sort of recognized and then when she said her name, it just gave me chills it freaked me out so much. I won’t go into details, but she was a rebound shortly after me and Jenn split up and I suspect she didn’t realize I had gotten married because the moment I mentioned I got married and moved to Riverview, she quickly ended the conversation and hung up. Not exactly someone I would want to spend a lot of time with, hence why it was a rebound, and a short one at that. Frig sakes. Even writing about it gives me the willies.
Anyways folks, Tamara should be home shortly. She’s making me pancakes and sausage for lunch. I’ll be in touch.
