Well, I kind of have news about my dad, sort of.
As some of you might be aware, I’ve had very little contact with my dad since he originally said he wanted to move. He hasn’t written. His phone has been disconnected, and basically, I’ve had no idea what his story is or if he’s still alive or what. But last night, I took a shot in the dark, and thus far, it looks like it paid off.
My dad has a brother whom I remember quite well, and he has a son whom is my cousin. My dad at one point had told me my cousin was living in BC. So, last night I did a search on Canada411.com and found a name matching my cousin listed in BC. I called it, got no answer, but left a message indicating who I was looking for and where they could reach me.
11:30 last night the phone rings and it’s my cousin whom I have not spoken to in over 20 years. He is doing well and informed me that last time he heard (through his dad) my dad was alive and kicking, just hiding from ppl like he always does. I got my uncle’s phone number and I think I’ll give him a call this week and see if he can go let my dad know that I’ll be there in a little over a week.
I must say that in some regards, it is good to have this wonder off my chest. Now if I could just get my head wrapped around my work this week, I’d be ok.
