Well folks, for a band that I really enjoyed in the past, I was very disappointed by the reunion show last night.
We got into Halifax last night and had no problems finding the place where the show was at but to my surprise, the bar didn’t open until 11pm and closes at 3:30am which meant that it was going to be a very late night. Tamara decided she would rather stay the night then drive back to Moncton at 4am. So we got a hotel room, and headed down to the casino.
I tried calling the bar a few times while I was at the casino but with very little luck so we just played Blackjack for awhile and then by the time 12:30am came along, I headed back to the hotel to get my camera, while Tamara continued to kick ass at the Blackjack table. She walked away $120 ahead which was good.
The first band I saw play at this bar was not bad but then Adrenalin came on. Now, I do have mixed feelings about the show. First the good. The band was definitely tight and had good sound and plenty of energy as they always did. Todd was his usual insane self thrashing about the stage, twitching, and doing many early Mike Patton antics that ppl expected. Lots of power and energy from the show. The bad. Todd’s singing was extremely sloppy and he did a lot of just goofing off rather than actually singing and putting effort into the songs. They did do a few covers which were done well but still, that didn’t make up for the sloppy vocals. The worst. Over an hour of playing and I recognized two songs. Lost & Origin of Disorder. I really wanted to hear Marriage of Convenience or Treating The Trauma but no luck. I left before the show officially ended, went back to my hotel room, and then eventually fell sleep.
The trip was not what I expected but next weekend will be far better as it is the real vacation coming up. Next Saturday we are off to Edmonton, but for now, I must go do something something.
