It’s a Monday morning here in Moncton and since all of the clients I currently work with are in the US, my day is going slow since I can’t contact anyone as today is a holiday in the US. So, since I have a few moments and am taking a breather, I thought I’d post some thoughts of the day.
First up, I’ve been doing a bit of reading on the fan reaction to Lost’s season finale and I’m hearing a lot of flack. You know, now I remember why I stopped visiting TV show message boards awhile ago. Some of these people get so irritated and so upset over things that are so trivial that it is just so overkill. These people are upset because all of their questions about Lost weren’t answered in the finale. Well, HELLO? If they answered all the questions, why would we continue to watch the show?!?!?! For myself, I know I would like to have seen some other things but there were definitely a lot of things addressed in the finale and next season will address more, just like any serialized drama. I also listened to the post-finale podcast and the producers did give some good info. They indicated that next season will have no repeats. They’ll start the season in late September and run 6 episodes, and then not air anything new until February. No repeats, no shows. When February hits, they’ll air 17 episodes of Lost straight with no repeats or interruptions. Now mind you, having to wait all that time for new eps will be hard, but a lack of repeats, and a wicked second half of the season will be well worth it.
In other news, The Edmonton Oilers are in the Stanley cup and it’s looking like they’ll be playing a few playoff games while we’re in town so if I don’t have to sell my kidneys to get tickets, I’ll be there. WOO HOO! It has been over 20 years since I have seen an Oilers game live. Last time I saw them play was when Gretzky played for them as well as Mark Messier, Glen Anderson, Kevin Lowe, Andy Moog, and all the other “classic” players from the golden years of the Oilers. If I get to see them win the cup, it will be un-fricken believable.
