Well folks, I just got out of bed and let me tell you, I am glad that I have today off. I know that after this weekend, I need some time to kick back and relax. Why? Because we worked our asses off to get the house in good shape for company.
Before I get to that, let’s talk Friday. Friday was good. Good for several reasons. One being the fact that it was the last day of the week, but even better than that, good because I got my first bonus cheque and let me tell you, I did some celebrating. For starters, we went to Lone Star for supper and I had a kickass steak. I also was over to Future Shop where I bought a new digital camera for my travels since I have been wanting one for awhile. Then finally, I bought my first item for the baby. It’s a video baby monitor. Yes, it’s probably overkill but ever since I saw this thing, I have wanted to get it and man, is it ever cool. Full color video with night vision anywhere within the house. Very cool.
Saturday was as expected, busy with cleanign the house and getting stuff ready. We cleaned the basement, kitchen, bathrooms, and the living room. I never cleaned so much dust in ly life but the house looks great now. Best thing for us to do now is to try and keep it that way which is easier said than done.
Yesterday was the poker day and BBQ which ended up being mostly family because most people had other plans or backed out at the last minute. I a bit disappointed in that regard but that’s ok because I know people are busy. Andrea did show up and I taught her how to play Texas Holdem. We had some food, and all was good. Ended up being a lot of fun so I was glad to have had it. I will likely do another one in a month or so but I doubt I’ll do it on a long weekend.
Thrown into the mix this weekend were some movies. We watched Fun with Dick & Jane (lame until the end), Wedding Date (not all that great), Walk The Line (great movie even if you don’t like Johnny Cash) and Eight Below (heart warming tale about sled dogs, very nice). I also watched this very disturbing thing on TLC about the 99 most bizarre surgical mistakes. Not something I should have watched. Holy freaky.
Today will be veg day with a side of laundry and errands. It is also my intention that after I post this, to post some new photos in the photo gallery of our recent trip to Alberta. I have been meaning to do it but with having switched webhosts, there has been other things to concern myself with. So, on that note, I think I will go through the pix right now and do that while it’s on my mind.
