If you caught my little message on MSN, then you know this already, but none the less, here it is. I am going to Atlanta, Georgia in October. Will be gone for a week and the biggest news about this trip is that I am going solo. I will not be travelling with another consultant as I will not be having a third shadow as planned. Turns out I am doing well enough on my own that they are sending me for my first solo trip ahead of schedule. WOO HOO!
So, it’s kind of exciting to think that I will be travelling by myself to a new city. Especially by air. But it should be all good. Tamara has pondered coming with me as she does have the time off, but where trips through work can be finicky and cancelled at the last minute, I’d hate to see her buy a ticket then have to cancel it and not be able to get a refund. Tickets are not cheap. A quick check of Expedia lists the flight at just short of $700 which is not bad, but still not the best.
I did a quick check of bands playing in town while I am there and Alice In Chains is actually playing. I didn’t even know they were still together. Doubt I’ll go but Tamara says there’s a bunch of other stuff that I should check out so perhaps I will.
I’m actually on a break at the moment. I chose to work from home this morning and it almost seemed like I got more work done here than I do when I’m at the office. Seems a bit weird but since I have been going non-stop since I got up, I figured I was entitled to a few minutes off. Besides, I need to make some food soon. Have some lunch, the head into the office for the afternoon since we have a meeting and I don’t want to miss it.
Watched the first episode of this seasons The Amazing Race and it was indeed good as expected. Did not expect to see someone get booted before the pit stop but it does look like it will be a good season.
With that said, time to go back and finish up what I need to before I head out.
