I was going to do a bit of a rant on this but decided against it since I am not really all that annoyed by the mandatory separation program. I am more annoyed at the fact that now I have to pay extra money for larger bags so that they are the right color. Interestingly enough though the apartment complexes do not qualify for the mandatory separation yet they produce more garbage than a house. WTF is with that?
Another interesting thing I found today was that there is no mention on Riverview’s website or the Westmorland Albert County waste website about what will be done if you are not compliant. I even emailed them and I was given a long and detailed message about why we should separate (and why clear bags are bad) but a simple dodge about the consequences. Should have figured.
Oh well. At least the day is over!
