So if you saw my little burst in the Scribbles, you know I am excited. Well, it’s the day after so the big part has settled but I’m still way psyched.
I got a call yesterday afternoon from the big boss at work. He tells me that my boss, and another director are in his office and they would like to see me. Given my history, being called to the big bosses office, with other bosses in there, did not settle well with me. I must have had a look of concern when I walked by because the big boss told me that it was ok, all was good.
Now, I wouldn’t call it a promotion, but I have been given a new assignment which was added to my current workload. It will get me working with a brand new product that we now have through our purchase of another software company (article was in the paper months ago). I’m the first and only one on my team who will be working with this product, and the big boss asked for me. They offered it to me specifically. It may not sound like a lot, but its major because one, it could lead to something bigger, and it shows that the company is definitely interested in keeping me around, and that they have bigger plans for me. After I got the news I was so friggin excited I couldn’t even concentrate on work. So, it’s kind of like a mini-promotion because now I’m working on two products instead of just one. YAY ME!
Then, the smaller news. I come in to work this morning and check my home email to find that I received an email from Virginia Slater. At first, I thought it was spam, but when I saw that it had come from this website, I read it and sure enough it was an email from my aunt Virginia out in Edmonton. Apparently my uncle Bill (son of my dad’s step-father) knew of my website and so my aunt contacted me through here. I told her that it was weird hearing from her after so long, and that we were going to visit her and my uncle in Edmonton but just ran out of time. It was awesome to hear from them and I hope to keep in touch a bit more.
Talk about a lot of news. Wow. This week is going really good. I’m on cloud 9 folks and I hope to stay here. Here’s to hoping the news we hear on Friday won’t depress us (more on that to come down the road)
With that said, I should get my day started and try and figure out what I have to work on today.
WOO HOO!!! All is good in Klemland!
