I got an another email from my aunt Virginia who informed me that my uncle Bill is the president of Adco Power in Alberta. Sounds impressive. Dunno if it really is but still quite cool.
It’s looking like I may be heading to Omaha Nebraska a week after I get back from Atlanta. A client made a special request for me to come down there to do some work so I am kind of excited even though I don’t think there’s a hell of a lot in Omaha but hey, it’s travel and Aeroplan points right?
The NAS box is working well. I moved all of my photos and music onto it yesterday as well as Tamara’s photos. I’m running a “find duplicates” operation in Acdsee to find all of the duplicate pictures we have so that I can consolidate everything into one folder. We have a SHITLOAD of pictures so it really will be nice to have everything in one spot.
The nice thing about centralizing everything is that I don’t have to have the other computer on to get to those files. And, if I decide to buy one of those media center things for the TV room downstairs, I can simply point it to the NAS instead of the computers, if I don’t need any apps running.
Did a bit of work on the photo frame today. Nothing major but we had some slippage on the display after it was hanging on the wall for awhile. I shifted the screen and placed a few blocks under it to prevent it from sliding down. I’m letting it run all afternoon to see how it works out.
Today is the first day of October which means that the Halloween party is in 3 weeks. I am seriously hoping to get everything I need done in that time period. We have some decorating and such to do and I bought the only piece I needed for my costume this weekend. The responses so far have been good. There are people that I expected to say they couldn’t come but that’s ok as well. Thanks for the replies anyway. We are expecting a decent sized crowd and those who will be attending Eric’s party are still welcome here as both me and Eric have said you can hop from party to party. We will be doing a poker and blackjack table here downstairs. Not sure on the details yet but there will be something there.
I watched the special features disc of Lost Season 2 and found some good stuff but not as much as I had hoped. The premiere is on Wednesday and there’s no way in hell I am going to miss it. The phone, and other people will have to wait as I will not be interrupted during the best shown on television.
Tamara is gone this afternoon and I am once again home alone, but all is good as I have music, the cats, and myself to keep me entertained. I really should go do something thogh shouldn’t I?
