Omaha, bigger than I thought

Posted by on October 24, 2006

If I recall correctly, when I did my big trip to LA in 97, I think I drove through this city but I can’t remember for sure. I’ll need to take a good look at my road atlas when I get back to Moncton. Regardless, I am here. Made it last night but had some flight issues so I ended up getting here later than expected. I also encountered some payment issue which are still to be resolved but hopefully by lunchtime today, all will be well again.

I’m not feeling too great. Got up in the middle of the night a few times hacking my guts out. I guess I really do need to go see my doctor and find out wtf the deal is with my cough and cold that does not seem to want to go away.

I got an email from my uncle Bill again which was cool. I gotta say, I was very surprised by the photo he sent. Wow. People have aged quite a bit. I guess thats what happens when you don’t see someone for 20 years.

I’m a bit blah this morning which is a bit unusual. I think this trip is just one that I am not overly excited about because of the fact that I was just on the road recently, and so much has gone on that I have not had much time to think. I am glad that when I return, I’ll be able to relax a bit more.

That being said, the Halloween party was good despite the lack of responses. We had a decent turn out which yielded some fun games, good music, and a good night overall. I am glad that it went well and am sort of glad that it ended early so we could get a good nights sleep for Sunday.

The service was very short, 15 mins, and it was very emotional but now I feel like I have some sort of closure on it. I’ll always keep it with me, but now I really feel like I can move forward.

Speaking of moving forward, I’m also a bit at odds with some work stuff. Not the actual work itself just some other things that I can’t go into detail with. I guess in some ways I feel like I am back in high school. So, with that said, I’m just going to keep doing things the way I always have, and things always work out for the best right?

So, I guess I better finish up and go get dressed. I need to make sure I am presentable for my first day and as much as I hate wearing ties, I better go put one on. I think sometime today I’ll snap some photos of the area and give you a peek into where I am. Until then, I hope everyone has a good day.
