My work day went pretty good today. I must say that I was pretty happy with the way things worked out. However, it did not start off too well.
See, the fact is, I’ve been putting on a lot of weight lately. I weighed myself just the other day and I broke 170 pounds for the first time. Ya. Me. Very weird. As a result, many of my pants no longer fit my fat gut. So, when I got up this morning and tried to put on my dress pants, I discovered that I had packed the wrong pair and they were too tight. Thankfully, I had another pair which did fit but I was not going to wear it every day this week.
So, tonite I ventured to the mall. I got a little map from the front desk and found a mall that didn’t look to be that far away on the map. Ya… not quite… I started walking and realized I would have to walk 50 blocks to get there. So, I caught a bus. That wasn’t so bad… got to the mall, bought pants, then caught the bus back here to the hotel… A lot of shady looking characters and neighborhoods did the bus go through… very unsettling. Needless to say, I am glad to be back in my room, with comfy pants and Coke. I think I’ll stick close to the hotel tomorrow night.
