Well folks, yesterday I had off and Tamara was off to her weekend getaway so I was left with the house to myself. I kicked back, watched some TV and a movie, and then eventually went out later due to a serious case of boredom. I decided that I would take in the Mitzy Creme Burlesque show at The Manhattan last night and although it seemed to take forever before anything got started, it was actually quite entertaining. Very classy and very old fashion. I enjoyed it.
However, by the time I got home (after 2am) I was wide awake so I kicked back and watched some more tube and listened to my poor cat sneeze and hack. Lucky is sick and I’m hoping that he gets better. He was throwing up a LOT yesterday and then last night he kept sneezing and was just laying around the house. He didn’t even jump up for treats so I know he was sick. However, this morning he was better spirits and wanted some treats and was wandering around the house once again. I hope whatever he has is on its way out.
Today was Halloween decor takedown day along with clean the garage day. Sort of. In Riverview, we have a fall clean up day for throwing stuff out so I threw out all of the boxes and stuff from our new bedroom set. Thank God as there was no room to budge in the garage. Plus, I got to finally throw out that old shower and the toilet. I don’t know if they’ll take it but we’ll certainly find out.
Tonite is sort of up in the air. Brian & Alex are playing out at Storm’s so I might head out there for awhile but I might just stay close to home as well.
Oh ya, I bought a new game, Dreamfall. This is the sequel to The Longest Journey which was an awesome game. It’s a 3rd person perspective adventure game and I am just starting on it and I don’t know how far I will go as I have begun to find the controls a little awkward and the game froze up on me yesterday. Not impressed by that. I hope it was just one of those random freezes that happens with computers once in awhile.
In other news, I got some more emails from my uncle Bill out west. He sent a recent photo of the family. Bill is my uncle, Virginia is my aunt and the two girls are my cousins. I guess the boys are the bf’s of the girls. If I had an older photo I’d show you one as a comparison. It was cool to see an updated photo. I really hope at some point they can make it down here for a visit. That would be way cool.
Work is going well. My trip to Scranton, PA may be postponded due to client issues. Nothing serious just some technical stuff that has not worked itself out yet. I’m supposed to go there for the 13th and 14th of this month then off to Providence Rhode Island for a week. The RI trip won’t get bumped but I may end up going to Scranton the following week instead of the week it is scheduled.
In my watching of movies, I rented Mission Impossible III. Now, I am not a fan of Tom Cruise, especially after his recent outbreaks of insanity due to Scientology. But I was attracted to the fact that J J Abrams was the director and he is the guy behind Lost and Alias. I gotta say, as far as an action movie, it was ok, but I have seen better. JJ is doing the next Star Trek film which is due out in 2008 I think. He’s sort of been handed the reins to take over for Rick Berman who many feel have damaged the franchise in a big bad way. In some ways, I think it is cool that there will be another Star Trek movie in the short time, but at the same time, I also think we could use a break from that show as it does seem to have been pushed a bit far.
Wow, I guess this is quite a post for a Saturday afternoon. I think I will kick back and watch X-Men III which I have already seen but I want to watch it again as there were a few things I missed, particularly the very end of the movie which is actually AFTER all the credits. I didn’t find that out til way later. So, I’ll watch that this afternoon, clean the cat box (and the puke near it) and figure out what my evening will consist of.
If anyone else here is up to going to Storm’s tonite, gimme a holler either on here or at home. Otherwise, have a good weekend!
