Now the real vacation starts…

Now that all of the holiday visits and stuff have now been completed, I think I can safely say that my real vacation has begun.

I have the rest of this week and all of next week off and I am very intent on dsoing very little. I have spent so much time traveling in the last few months that I said to Tamara that I wanted to enjoy my vacation by doing very little and kicking back to enjoy it. Here’s to hoping I can accomplish this.

With that said, there are a few things I think I need to get done. For starters, since we had part of our new bed replaced yesterday, we now have these bigass boxes sitting around the house that need to be removed. Those will be moved temporarily to the garage where they will sit until spring cleanup and then they’ll head off to dump land. I also think I need to try and organize my computer room a bit.

I have been playing my new PSP system since Christmas day and am enjoying thoroughly. I went to Future Shop yesterday to buy a hardshell case and got one but it turned out the case was actually for the UMD games. I figured I would keep it anyway and just invest in another case.

I also tried out the new headphones I got from Dave & Mel and let me tell you, they kick ass. VERY nice quality. I was very impressed.

I did buy myself a Christmas gift and am anxiously awaiting for it to arrive. The drive bays in my computer are full, except for one. A large hole has been there since I removed the CD burner months ago. So, I found something that will work very nicely to incorporate USB, Firewire, Audio, and flash card reader functionality, all into one nice black panel. This is something I wanted for awhile but was not able to find one and during a slow day at work, I found this so it should be arriving anytime.

I also need to do a reinstall of Windows XP on my machine since it has been awhile since I reinstalled the OS. I probably could get away with no bothering as it is a pain in the ass to reinstall all of my apps but the computer is a bit sluggish. Hmmm, need to figure out exactly what I wanna do there.

Now, regarding the PSP, since I now have this new toy, I need to start doing some digging and research on exactly what I can do with it. I know I can get a bunch of stuff from the guys at work that allows me to convert movies and video to watch on it but I need some software and other goodies to go along with it. Must learn more.

I’m off to Halifax next Wednesday for my Canpass Air enrollment. This is a membership that allows me to skip the immigration process when returning to Canada. I had a bad experience months ago where it took me an hour to get through customs in Toronto so I didn;t even end up in my hotel room until like 2am. Screw that. Canpass let’s me skip the long line, use a special ID and retina scan and I can be on my way. Should be nice. There’s also one for going into the US which I have to investigate. That would be EXTRA nice. Only problem is I don’t know what airports it works with and whether or not I can be enrolled in a Canadian airport or if it has to be a US one. I’ll have to see.

Regardless, I think I am going to do a bit of research on that right now. Plus, I need to get some lunch into me 😉
