It is the last day before I return to work tomorrow. Tamara is off for one of her stick n bitch days and I am at home, having just gotten out of bed about 20 minutes ago, and am ready to take on what is left of the day.
I must say that I think overall, my holiday went quite well. A lot of time to relax which is really what I wanted, but also a lot of time to sort of gather myself up and prepare for the new year.
I have been feeling a lot of sort of built up frustration in many ways over the last few weeks. I’ve had a couple of outbursts that perhaps I should have held back on, and I am still endeavouring to figure out what it is that is bugging me. I know that I was feeling a bit stressed or rather tired from all of the travel that seem to come at once but I think it is safe to say that I am feeling a bit better but there are still some things that need to be resolved. I’ve got some major things coming up in 2007 so I need to get my shit together.
Speaking of events, the 15th of January is coming soon. Although that date may have no relevance to most, it does for me as it will be the date of my last car payment. My lease on my 2003 Civic expires on February 15th, and this coming 15th is the last payment on it. Me and Tamara both decided that we are going to reduce to one vehicle this year. Although it will take some getting used to, the fact is that with the amount of the car payment, gas, and insurance, we’ll save about $500 a month give or take a bit. Still, that is a nice chunk of change that can be applied to our credit cards and other debt we have. I will be sad to see my car go and I am not looking forward to getting the inspection report on the damages as I know there are some things that need to be repaired, but I still think it will be worth it in the long run.
With that said, I will not be transferring my “DING” license plate to Tamara’s car. I have decided that I will hold off and keep the plates until such a time that I decide to obtain another vehicle. The plates belong to me and not the government so I am allowed to remove them and transfer them to any vehicle I wish. That’s $180 that will not have been wasted.
With the new year in full force, I am thinking of once again trying to organize some sort of poker night here at the house. As you are well aware, I have tried to do this in the past but have come up short due to insufficient attendance but I am hoping that between now and the coming weeks, I should be able to find some people that can carve out a few hours from their Saturday night to enjoy a night of poker. So, as always, please stay tuned for more info to come, and if you are interested, please just let me know. Moonie, I know you’re in and Ken, if you and Lucille would like to come, let me know if there is a weekend when you don’t have the kids so we can try and include you.
I was finally able to check my Aeroplan status and I am now up to 19K in points. I got a bonus 3000 for having a cancelled flight so I am climbing quite well. I am supposed to have another trip near the end of January and two more in February so it’s looking good with regards to piling up the points.
So, with that said folks, I think I will close off for today and hopefully have some more news to report on later tonite or tomorrow.
