I’m reading an article today on Gizmodo and I came across this story about blinking lights. If you watch the video, you’ll learn that in fact it was an ad campaign all over the US for a TV show/movie. CNN ran an article as well about it.
Apparently these flashing lights, and batteries with wires was enough to cause major panic and terror into the minds of the people of Boston. However, no one else in the country managed to freak out about it.
It never ceases to amaze me how insanely paranoid the Americans are when it comes to terrorism. This had absolutely nothing to do with bombs or hurting the US but because someone was a bit paranoid, and they spread it out, the city shit itself in fear, and now they are looking at suing the company responsible for the ads.
Uhm, maybe if you were a little less paranoid and self-righteous you wouldn’t be scared of a box of lights that blink. Just because it has batteries and wires doesn’t mean it’s a bomb and it’s going to destroy your lives. Your cell phone and your MP3 player have batteries and wires and no one suspects them of being terrorists. I mean LOOK AT THE DAMN THING. It LOOKS like a cartoon character. Come on!
Man, I am so glad I don’t live down there with these people who are so filled with fear. Plus, the media just makes it worse. Fear everything.
