jcYesterday morning I received an email from Chris indicating that he had received news that our very dear friend J.C. has passed away in Montreal.

The details are sketchy. Chris indicated the news came from Rob Boudreau whom apparently Chris & Jason know. I don’t know much of the details but maybe Chris can elaborate on what he was told. Jason received the same news from Chris as I did.

I have since tried to find an obituary or news piece that mentions J.C. but have come up empty. I also thought of contacting the Montreal police to see if maybe they have a record of what happened.

I don’t know his sisters married name and I don’t have any other contact information. I really wish I could find out exactly what happened. I am still very largely in disbelief and denial and am having a hard time believing that someone his age would just die all of a sudden.

But, like Jason said to me, “it is what it is”.

J.C., you will indeed be sorely missed. You were a true friend and I wish the last few years I had had a bit more of an opportunity to hang out and see you. I really hope you are better where you are now.

I posted a message on Monctonlocals hoping to get some more info, and this time I saw a message from a name I do know and trust. It reads:

I actually got an email from an old friend in Montreal that said JC had choked on something at a bar on Friday and then died of a heart murmur on the way to the hospital.Unfortunatly I don’t know any more than that.He was an old friend, that I haven’t seen in a long time, but it still sucks to see another one go down.I send my condolences to his friends and family.
