Attack of the landscaping monsters

I got out of bed yesterday at about 5am Moncton time, and headed off to the Newark airport. Upon arrival, I was bumped to an earlier flight which allowed me to get home 2 hours early. Only downside was the fact that I could not find a NJ postcard in the airport or any of the stores I went into so I decided to make my own using the Quick Stop photo I posted, and a bit of Photoshop work. It came out nicely.

So, I went to bed last night around midnight hoping that I would be able to sleep in and go for my Saturday sausage as per the norm. This would not happen.

at around 8am, Tamara wakes me up to tell me that there are strange people in our backyard and to go find out who they were. Barely conscious, I could care less about who’s in the backyard and just wanted to sleep. After finally dragging my ass out of bed, I got to the kitchen and saw Tamara’s brother and his friend, doing us a favor and mowing the lawn for us. Very nice.

Since we were both up, we went yard sailing for about 4 hours and managed to buy a crapload of baby stuff including clothes, books, and even a bassinette. Hell, I even bought this awesome electric car set that the kid won’t be able to play with for at least 2 years but the price was way awesome.

But man, I am tired. My feet hurt and I am glad to finally be home. After having such a shitty week in Jersey, it’s nice to be back into a somewhat normal place where things make a little sense. I mean, who the hell has a city/town with no left turns? Imagine driving down mountain road where there’s a cement median the whole length of the road, and in order to turn left, you have to turn right and then loop around across to the side you want. To quote Chris, “God I’m glad I live in Moncton”.
