No, I”m not talking about making cookies at my age. I’m talking about how freaking hot it is where I am today. I am SO thankful for air conditioning because there is no way in hell I would be able to make it through the day without some kind of cool breeze.
So, like everytime I travel, I always try and double check everything that I bring with me when I head out. I had all of my stuff packed and ready and then last night it occured to me that I had forgot one thing. Ties.
See, when I travel, the dress code sort of depends on what type of place I am going to. If I am going to a law office, it’s dress shirt and tie first day and find out if others wear ties or not, and if not, don’t bother for the rest of the week. If I’m dealing with an insurance company, it’s golf shirts, no ties.
So of course I am on a legal trip this time and I forgot my ties. Now, most of the time, I’ve been told on the first day that I don’t need to wear a tie but it makes a good impression anyway. So this morning, knowing I didn’t have any ties, I went downstairs to the gift shop to buy one. $40 for a tie. No freaking way. I decided to bite the bullet and show up tie-less and it worked out ok. I have not seen many folks in this office wearing a tie. Phew. Made it by that one.
