So folks, you may or may not have heard that downloading music and movies off the internet is illegal. Well, for the first time, I know what they mean first hand.
I rarely ever download movies. In fact I prefer to wait til it comes out on DVD. But, recently I wanted to have a copy of Transformers for me to watch on the plane while traveling. So, I snagged a copy from a torrent site and have had it. Looks like someone was watching when it happened and I was served notice of this.
Funny thing is, I have seen the movie twice, and intend on buying the DVD, and, between it and one other movie, those are the only ones I’ve downloaded in probably a year or so.
Regardless, being told that you have been identified, and then shown a letter from the company that represents Paramount, is a little daunting. Needless to say folks, if you are downloading torrents, do not keep the torrent files on your system to share.
