So last night I got to the Philly airport at around 5:15ish, maybe a little bit later. I checked into my flight and went through security. By the time all that was done, I noticed there was another US Air flight leaving in 30 minutes out of another terminal. Since I had 3 hours to kill before I would be heading off, I figured that it couldn’t hurt to try and get on that flight. If I made that flight, then I would be into Toronto around 7:30ish and would have plenty of time to hopefully catch the 9pm flight back to Moncton, getting me home a night early.
I made it to the other gate and switched flights and then around 6ish they boarded the flight. It took FOREVER for them to get everyone on the plane and then by the time they closed the door, we then taxi’d around the airport forever waiting to takeoff. Needless to say, it was sometime after 7 before we were airborne and I did not get off the plane and into the terminal in Toronto until 8:45. Not enough time to catch the train to the other terminal, and get a boarding pass for the 9pm flight.
US Air sucks. Man, I was glad to be in Toronto early mind you, but I also heard that they have a target of 60% of their flights to be on time. They consider it GOOD if they have 60% of their flights departing or arriving on time. WTF kind of stats are those? Seriously? That is crap.
So I made it home, and am glad the rest of my flights for the next two weeks are all Air Canada.
