A week long grieving event

Posted by on December 14, 2007

Well folks, I made it. It has been a long week. I have spent a lot of time with my family this week and let me tell you, I am glad that I live in this area. With everything that has transpired in the last few days, it would have sucked to have been anywhere other than Moncton.

Mom has been enjoying the fact that little Dylan has been spending yesterday and today over there. I think it helps distract her from everything that has gone on. I do think that once her sister goes back home, and she has the house to herself, it’s gonna be a bit rough. I have no idea how it can feel but I can just imagine that it will be a little weird. I think the things that will be the worst is when she goes to do something out of habit and then realizes she doesn’t have to because Tiny is gone. She said it’s already happened so I imagine she’ll see more of that.

I think I have made my peace with it. I just need to keep an eye on my mom and make sure she does ok. Parts of the family can make it… complicated so I need to make sure she’s ok.

I do plan on writing Tiny a letter. I know he won’t get the chance to read it but I think it would be somewhat therapeutic to say some things that needed to be said. Times like this you really realize that you can’t wait to tell people how you feel. It really is a shame that it takes a person dying to realize what you should have said.

Regardless, enough talk about death. I’ll be glad to get back to work and into a routine again. Christmas shopping is sort of done now I just need to get off my ass and wrap everything. Frig sakes. Wrapping should be made easier to do. I suppose I can use gift bags but those are nowhere near as fun to open as wrapping paper. There’s a certain satisfaction in ripping the paper apart to find out what’s inside.

Oh ya… totally off topic. Does anyone remember Lee Aaron? Not sure if I posted this before or not but if I did, this will be a dupe. A song of hers came on my playlist and I thought I’d look her up online. She’s still alive and kicking but does jazz music now instead of rock. Still looks good and still has good pipes but is a bit hard to fathom the “metal queen” as a jazz singer. If you get a chance, check her out at LeeAaron.Com.

‘Spose, should go make some food or something…
