So it being the [censored]mas season, I thought I would send out my best wishes to everyone during this festive season. Every year, millions of people around the world celebrate [censored]mas with their families. Some celebrate [censored]mas for it’s origin which most know as the birth of [censored] [censored]. For the little kids, [censored]mas is all about getting gifts from family, and Santa. Kids get all excited about Santa. Waiting to see him come down the chimney and hear his H[censored] H[censored] H[censored]. They leave out little snacks for him and fall asleep before catching a glance of the jolly old man arriving on [censored]mas morning.
This folks is what the world is coming to. Over the course of the holidays, I have heard numerous stories about various groups who are throwing fits because they don’t want people to say Merry Christmas because they don’t celebrate Christmas. They celebrate Kwanzaa, or Hanukkahs, or Zipola Dipdee. Instead you have to say Happy Holidays or Seasons Greetings. As one commentator made on CNN, exactly what season are we greeting anyway?
Some groups are insisting that Santa can’t say HO HO HO anymore because it promotes promiscouousness. Instead it has to be HA HA HA. There’s also people banning Santa completely because his belly full of jelly promotes obesity. I mean, gimme a fracking break here.
The best one yet are the groups saying you can’t call Christmas Christmas because it contains Christ and not everyone believes in Christ.
Well Christ man, Christmas was born because of the birth of Jesus. That is what the holiday is truly supposed to be about. It has become more than that with the giving and receiving of gifts, and families coming together, and lots of other things, but ultimately the origin of the holiday is about Christ. I’m not a big Christian person but I can at least respect the fact that this holiday is meant to serve as a celebration of his birthday. It irritates me to NO END how people are getting so pissed off about small little things like this.
Why is it that the world we live in has come to the point where even the most basic things and things that are really harmless, have to be torn apart. How many kids do you know got fat because of Santa? Is it Santa’s fault there’s an obesity problem in many places? Uhm, no. It has to do with the crap we feed our kids. Do you really think that Santa saying HO HO HO is going to turn little girls into pimped out WHORES? I doubt it. Santa and sex are about as far apart as they can get (unless you have a thing for it which reminds me, Tamara you need to buy me that suit 😉 ).
Lastly, the whole Christ thing really needs to be left alone. It’s a word. Stop being so gawd-damn sensitive and just accept it as the name of a holiday and leave it. Next thing you know we’ll see the PETA groups getting pissed off about the Easter bunny giving away chocolate because it’s mean to rabbits, and then the parents will chime in and say it’s bad to give kids chocolate and BLAH BLAH BLAH. Enough is enough!
My kid will experience CHRISTmas, a big fat Santa with a jolly laugh, and his HO HO HO’s!
