Well folks, I had a little bit of foresight yesterday when I left work. I packed the laptop up and brought my stuff home because somehow I knew that when I got up this morning, I would not be doing a whole hell of a lot of shoveling. Well, I was right.
When I got up this morning, I went outside, and started. Of course, the driveway itself was perfectly fine, but the very end of it had been covered when the plow went by. That snow of course was super rock hard and very hard to shovel. I started with every intention of getting it all done.
I did about 1/3 to 1/2 of it and then came to the realization that I had my laptop bag in the house and could simply just work from home. The moment that hit me, I went back into the house, started a fire in the stove, and dug out the laptop. Here I am, at home, working.
Yes, I know I still have to get the driveway shoveled if I want to go anywhere today, but at least I know I don’t have to break my back trying to get out of this place. Tamara said she’d do her share of the driveway as well so maybe when she gets up, she can do a bit. I just want enough so that we can get out if need be.
Plus, I got a call today and my orthopedic shoes are in. They are likely to cost me a fortune, but I am hoping that those babies help my feet when I am standing on them all day doing training. Who knows. If they are comfortable enough, I just might start wearing them everywhere. We’ll see.
Last night I also hooked the PC back up. The Mac is now sitting on my desk and will likely be packed up for shipment to someone on eBay. We’ll see how that goes. Not sure if I really want to give it up, or just find another purpose for it. I will say one thing though, I did not miss the racket my PC makes when it is running but it was nice to be able to do some things without messing around. OS X is nice, but Mac needs to work on some of their apps for power users like me.
Aside from that, I have not done any more geocaching as their is too much damn snow and today it is REALLY DAMN COLD OUT! I’ll wait and snag some caches when I am in Hartford next week.
