I was bitching earlier this month about the fact that in my attempts to build a new theme for this site, the auto-generating theme site I was using kept crashing. Well, today I decided to say the hell with it, and try building it myself. The end result is that I am happy with the way the new site is looking so far. Now it’s just a matter of time before I am able to get everything in there that I currently have here, minus some of the crap. The ultimate hope is that once I am done, I can wipe out the old website completely, and all of the files/folders will be gone, except for what is in the new site.
Now I just need to learn a bit more about how the templates work, and figure out to write a piece of code that will migrate my stories from Postnuke, to Movable Type. I currently have 1,833 posts to this blog and they go back as far as October 29th, 2001. There is so much stuff in there that the last thing I want to do is lose it. So with that having been said, I’ll be damn sure to find a way to import the stories into the new database 🙂
