Lots of things to gripe about

Ok, so let’s start.

Yesterday I caught something on the news about in North Vancouver, they want to ban drive thru’s at restaurants because of the potential damage it is doing to the environment via idling cars. Seriously? WTF has this world come to? I mean what’s next, banning red lights and stop signs? That’s the most ridiculous thing I have hard. It’s not going to put much of a dent in the carbon footprint folks. Why not come up with something that removes the green house gases from car exhaust instead of stupid-ass ideas like this one.

Read today that The Eagles are supposedly going to play Magnetic Hill on August 2nd. Wow, I am just so excited about that. The Rolling Stones were one thing but the Eagles were broken up for years and decided to reunite because they had no cash and wanted to milk their fans for more, just like most of the other bands that have reunited in recent history. Unless this band has some real good openers, and the tickets aren’t insanely over-priced, this is a concert I will not be attending. Why can’t this city get a good ROCK concert. The Eagles are not rock. They put me to sleep. Nothing against their music as they do have some ok songs and yes they are a “classic” band but come on, give us something a little more edgy than The Eagles. I know some of you are fans and that’s perfectly fine, but it does bug me that this city has a real hard time taking a risk and bringing something a little more beefy to the plate. Lots of country shows, but no REAL rock shows. A band like AC/DC would do awesome in a city like this. It really sucks that Moncton’s “big” shows tend to be more towards what C103 plays over and over and over and over again.

Finally, I hear that they cancelled school this morning. WTF? Seriously? Who the hell makes these decisions? I got up on Monday morning when it was insanely cold and windy and the roads were a complete and total mess. When I got onto Hillsborough Rd, I was completely shocked to see the school buses out and these little kids, all bundled up and waiting for the bus. I could not believe my eyes that the school district would not cancel school on a day like that. But, I get up this morning and the roads are perfectly fine, it’s actually quite nice out, and even my little 5 month old was fine, but they cancel school because of the “storm” we are supposed to get this afternoon. It’s a precautionary cancellation right? The roads/storm will be too bad later to cancel it. Uhm, you don’t even really know how bad it will be until it’s here. I know they are trying to be “safe” but frig sakes folks, when the hell did it make sense to cancel school when it’s perfectly fine outside? Maybe I’ll feel different if I look outside at 3pm and it’s insane but right now, it’s irritating.

There. Three rants for three stupid things and I have been do for one for awhile.

So there. I’ve had my say.
