Dropped a bug and more

Well folks, yesterday I snagged my 73rd cache and it was my first experience with a really well done camouflage of a cache. This particular cache I tried for twice. The first time, I got into the middle of the woods and looked everywhere but did not see it. Yesterday, I went to another one that was in the same area and dropped off my first travel bug. Last week, I ordered TB tags online and on Wednesday, I released my very first TB out into the wild, Darth Vader The Gold. He’s trying to get to Skywalker Ranch and then back home again.

But after I logged that cache, the cache owner emailed me about the other one that I had not found (he owned both) and gave me a clue about where to look. When I went back, it was very easy to find, but let me tell you, kudos to Ron for unique way he camo’d the cache. Very well done. Just wish the weather had not been as harsh to it. Regardless, it gives me a whole new insight into what to look for when I am out in the middle of nowhere.

I am now anxiously trying to hit my 100 cache milestone because once I hit 100, I will begin placing my own around town. I wanted to hit 100 so that I would have seen a good range of caches and know a bit more about what they should contain and what I should skip on. I also am working on my own “calling card” which would be nothing more than a chip I drop in a cache that would uniquely identify myself but still be relatively cool. I have a unique idea that goes along with the concept of Geocoins but is far less expensive to produce, just as unique, but I think somewhat cooler than a coin. More on that later.
