Most of you would have no clue who Jason & Sherry are. In fact, I only ever met Sherry once, but this morning when I logged onto Facebook, I saw wedding photos from Jason & Sherry’s wedding and I smiled, and felt a little weird.
The Jason I am referring to is Jason Vautour. My former brother-in-law. He’s several years younger than I am (27 now) and he was always just Jenn’s brother, but we got along great. Me and him would talk computers and tech stuff and he was even a student of mine when I taught at EBCI (funny story about that too but that will have to wait).
I had heard he was engaged but I did not expect a wedding to happen as quickly as it did. Sure enough, I saw some photos from Facebook today and he looked great, happy, and it felt a little weird to see him getting married.
It’s very hard to explain. I see him occasionally when I bump into him at a store, or the mall. He’s kept in touch a little bit via Facebook but like all people from your … former life … time passes and you move on with your life. I think today when I saw those pictures, I kinda missed the guy. It’s not like I was missing the old days, but the friendships you make with people tied to your “ex’s” tend to die off once the relationship is over. It’s just natural for those ties to fade over time especially when they’re related to your ex.
So that having been said, it’s good to see Jason happy. I really do wish him the best, and maybe at some point I’ll run into him again and see how things om his side of the world are.
