Saturday morning I got up and decided that I was going to go after some geocaches not too far from where I work. Two of them had not been found in over a year and one of them had not been found in almost 2 years. I really wanted to try and see if I could find all three of them.
I headed out and decided to bring my door prize that I won a few weeks back with me. I figured if I found a good spot, I’d hide it.
Well, long and short of it, I found all three caches, plus two more, and man, talk about a long ass hike.
If you know where Caledonia industrial park is, you can get off the TCH and turn onto Harrisville Blvd and pass a shell station and then past the Irving diaper plant. if you hang a right and go to the end of that street, there’s an ATV trail that goes all through the back area. Check out this link to see the area I’m looking at. it’s basically a bigass semi circle that goes from the end of Stornoway to Caledonia with the loop going upwards (north) and then left (west).
In total, I hiked 7.5KM. I got out onto Caledonia Rd and realized that if I walked back to my car, it would be another 3KM so I said screw that, and I called a cab. I was sore when I got home, but surprisingly enough, I’m not too bad today.
Regardless, I hid my cache, and I found the three ones I was really after so I would say that it was a mission accomplished!
