I read yesterday that my friend Ken is officially pulling the plug on his blog. Turns out he’s not getting the use out of it as he once did and has decided that his blog will be no more. It’s unfortunate as his was one of the only other blogs I read on a regular basis, but I can fully understand his desire to move on and use other online tools for communicating with friends and family.
I too have thought of pulling the plug on Bobsroom a few times but I have had this site now for a very long time (in various forms mind you) and I have really put far too much effort into it to just say goodbye. I too do not have a large readership but I do have a few faithful readers and I still use this place as a means to share things going on in my life as well as other oddities out there.
So now that Ken’s blog is going, what other blogs might I keep up on? Most people I know now are using Facebook to communicate and although I really enjoy that website, I do like seeing people’s own blogs where they can write out their thoughts and feelings, and share other stuff. I think the days of blogs being cool are now passed and we’re into the age of social networking where places like Facebook & MySpace are the better way to keep up on everyone. Although it is pretty cool, I like the idea of keeping Bobsroom alive as my audience is far smaller, and it has a lot more personalization to things I like and things I want to share.
I do admit to not having posted as much on here in recent months as I have at one time. This is what happens when you get real busy with things going on in life. Plus, I haven’t had a whole lot to report on in recent months beyond my work stuff, and of course the ongoing saga of my father coming to Moncton but not really because he won’t tell me wtf is going on. OH wait, I don’t wish to ramble this morning.
Regardless, I hope Ken continues to visit this blog as one of my few visitors and I will continue to post useless rants, stories about crap most people don’t care about, and funny links & videos. 🙂
