Well foks, we had our “crew” reunion yesterday and although I won’t say it was a bust, there wasn’t much to it.
We had a few folks show up. Ken & Lucille, Marc Cormier and his family, Shawna, Ben, and Eric. Beyond that, no one else came. As I suspected, most of the “will attends” turned into “not attending” when the actual day to show up arrived. Some people had genuine reasons for not coming and others probably just had other things they’d rather be doing. I understand. Regardless, for the folks that were there, we had a good time sitting around, having a good talk and remembering days gone by. Still nice.
I will not however be planning any events of this type, or of pretty much any kind, again. It is VERY frustrating when you plan an event, send out invites, and people tell you they are going to show up, and then when the day actually comes, no one bothers. Don’t tell someone you’re coming if you’re not going to bother showing up.
I have tried to plan get togethers, parties, and other social gatherings and most times it’s a bust because folks just don’t show up. So beyond our Halloween party, and perhaps a geocaching event (which has its own crowd of people who will show up) I don’t think I’ll plan many parties. I get too annoyed by it.
Aside from that, me Tamara & Dylan had our photos taken in Centennial Park on Saturday. I am glad we went early in the morning because by the time the afternoon hit, it was freaking HOT! Wow. We won’t get to see the photos for a few weeks which is kind of a change with the whole digital photography thing. Even though we had more than 300 photos taken via digital photography, we chose to wait until we can actually see them all together. It will be pretty cool.
