A week left

Well, if you can imagine this, Christmas is now a week away. In fact, by this time next Thursday, a big chunk of the gift opening will already be over and the family will begin arriving for Christmas Day at The Klem’s. This year the family is coming here and we’re doing a sort of potluck for dinner. Just thinking about the food right now is making me hungry.

I decided to work from home today since the workload is a little light, and Rogers was coming by to move some cable outlets. I wanted to get the cable outlet in the basement moved or re-drilled but unfortunately, because of the way the former owner of the home built the basement, we’re basically stuck with what we have. It’s a long story but the jist is he ran wiring in the ceilng that you can’t get to anymore and the cabling is old coax which doesn’t handle the new digital signals very well so we get choppy picture from time to time downstairs. Same thing in the bedroom. The Rogers guy was at least able to give us a new jack in the bedroom but the basement will have to wait. They could drill the foundation but I was not too keen on it. Looks like I’ll have to go buy a roll of RJ6 cable, some ends, and a crimper, and make my own long cable, and tie it up so it looks all nice and neat. That’ll wait until after Christmas. Maybe when we renovate I’ll get the construction guys to do it for me since I’m lazy 🙂

We had a pile of snow yesterday so it looks as if we will have a winter style Christmas afterall. Me and Tamara were talking about this last night. Christmas is just not the same unless there is snow on the ground. So, it looks like the weather may hold onto some of the snow for the next week. Here’s to hoping.
