It’s been a few days since I posted anything. As I indicated in my previous post, I haven’t felt much like writing lately. Just one of those things. But regardless, here’s a few things that have been going on.
For starters, as of today, I’m bailing on the chance to go see Faith No More in the UK. I thought a lot about it but after talking to Cheez, it seems that Air Canada may not be my best option for flying due upcoming contract negotiations. I would not want to take the chance of booking a flight then end up being stuck here due to a strike or some other unforseen circumstance. It’s not like I can get a refund on a ticket. I looked at flying on partner airlines but unfortunately when using points, all flights there and back include some flight on Air Canada. So unless something changes, I doubt I will be going to see them.
However, based on things I’ve been reading, there is a good chance that the band will do US dates which means I would still have a chance at seeing them again. If not, that’s ok because I did see them in 1995.
The weekend itself was kinda crappy. No need to go into specifics but Sunday pretty much sucked. It was just one of those days that I am glad is done and over with.
Friday saw the airing of the Battlestar Galactica series finale. I have to say that I was mostly impressed by the finale. Kind of neat the way it all ended up them being our ancestors. I do however hate shows that have very large questions that they taunt the audience with for a long time, and then they don’t bother answering it. It irritates me to no end when show writers cop out and decide that the audience should decide the answer for themselves. Personally, I think it’s stupid. Yes, there are some things you can leave unanswered because life is full of questions. But the fact is, you had a character like Starbuck who died and then somehow came back to life, yet you’re not going to tell us what she was? I guess we’re supposed to believe that she was an angel. Ok fine. But still, it would have been nice to have a bit better closure on that. I also read that Katee Sckhoff who plays Starbuck was also not overly happy that her character’s story doesn’t really have a good conclusion. Whatdya gonna do right?
Speaking of television, have you been watching Lost? It’s been a funky season for sure. I’m anxious to see where it all goes. I did catch a glimpse of one thing which I thought was pretty neat. The season finale episode for this year is called “The Incident”. If you’re an avid Lost fan, I’m sure you can guess what that refers to. I can’t wait.
