Although there has been no “official” release from Groundspeak regarding this, Jeremy Irish (CEO of Groundspeak) posted a message on the official forums informing people that by May 2, 2010, the maximum amount of caches allowed to be pulled down in a pocket query will be increased from 500 to 1,000.
For premium members, this will mean that the maximum amount of caches that can be queried in a day will go from 2,500 to 5,000.
Many cachers experience issues trying to obtain good PQ’s for cache saturated areas because of the current limitation. Usually cachers will have to run multiple pocket queries in strategic locations to insure that they get all of the caches for a particular area. The increase from 500 to 1,000 will reduce (but not necessarily eliminate) the need to use multiple PQ’s for certain areas.
I will post any updates I see and if anyone else sees or hears anything regarding this, please feel free to send it our way.
