It’s Friday and it’s a slow day at work so I’m taking a few minutes from my lunch hour to write out the latest…
So let’s see, next week I am on vacation starting Tuesday. Tuesday & Wednesday are just regular days off work. Although I won’t be working for Oracle for those days, I will be working. Cottage stuff is still in progress but we are doing better than we were before. Got a bunch of things to work on here and there but things are definitely shaping up.
That having been said, I send a MASSIVE huge thank you to my awesome wife Tamara for everything she’s been doing for that place. YOU ROCK!
My second “work” that I need to do is to go visit some vendors within the city for my annual geocaching race that is coming up in August. In fact, I have to make a trip downtown to do some counting and go visit a bar whom will be serving as very special drink for my racers. Once the vendors have signed off on everything, I can then cross that off my todo list and focus on other race related activites. Namely, printing clues and hiding caches. Still lots to be done.
On top of that, I _may_ need to take a trip to Saint John depending on how it goes. Cache Up NB was approached by the city a few months ago to put on a geocaching event for the city’s Canada Day weekend but unfortunately due to things beyond my control, that fell through. However, we did manage to get something put together for their Buskers on the Boardwalk festival and that’s coming up on the 24th. Not sure if I need to go there ahead of time, but I’ll know more next week.
Lastly, but certainly not least, I need to finalize my preparations for my pilgrimage to GeoWoodstock VIII. I’ll be going to the annual mega geocaching event which is being held just outside Seattle this year. Lots of huge milestone caches and events to go and I have been waiting for this since October of last year when I booked my flights. I have my days planned on where I am going, what caches I’m going to get, what areas I will be in, and even have a good schedule of things I want to hit up. I’ve also managed to collect over 45 travel bugs and geocoins to bring with me to drop off on the east coast. Man, I am psyched. At this time in a week, I’ll likely be on my way to GW8 and caching along the way. I can’t wait!
But as anxious as I am to go on my trip, I’m equally as anxious to get it over with. There’s a lot of other stuff going on this summer and I know that once this trip is out of the way, I can focus on enjoying my summer and trying to get some good days in with the wife and kids. With things being so busy this time of year I am glad that I have the chance to go away on my own for a little while, and then come back. It will be a great way to start the summer months 🙂
