Where/what is Canyon Lake Drive? Well, it’s a street I will be driving down in just under two weeks. Here’s a blast of updates from all things that are Matt.
- According to the countdown have on my phone, I have 12.5 days left before I catch a plane to head to Los Angeles to see Faith No More play live at the Hollywood Palladium. I’m REALLY looking forward to this trip. I’m travelling with an old friend Gary Gallant who is also excited to be on the trip. We plan to see as much as we can in the two days we are there. Canyon Lake Drive happens to be a road up in the Hollywood Hills which apparently presents the best view of the infamous Hollywood sign. We will find out for sure. I also used Google Street View to learn that an equally impressive view is from 3350 Deronda Dr between one house with a whole lot of garbage and another one with a fence. Thankfully you can see over the fence. I can’t wait.
- Work has been busy the last few weeks. I’ve been in training last week, this week, and next week, on another product for legal as the primary consultant for that product is transferring out of consulting. It’s kind of nice having something new to work with but I will admit that there’s a few things coming up that are a little intimidating but I am sure I will do fine.
- On top of the trip to LA, the two weeks after my return from there, I’ll be spending a portion of them in Boston for work as well. Go to LA, come home and rest, go to Boston, come home and rest, go to Boston, come home and rest, go back to regular work for a week, take a week off for the holidays. Not a bad way to spend December.
- My geocaching world has been a bit quiet as I have just been completely beat by the time I get home. Evenings are pretty dark and weekends have been pretty busy so not much opportunity to go out and do any finding. I am however about to pull the plug on a major series I did out in Elgin. Just not able to do the maintenance on these like I had wanted.
- I finally heard from my dad’s girlfriend. She has a 55 gallon fish tank box filled with my dad’s ashes and his guitar. Now it’s a matter of finding the best way to get this thing here without paying a fortune. The urn itself would likely run about $170 via Air Canada but I have no idea how much the larger box would cost. Will need to find out. Anyone have any connections with planes or flights? If you had your own plane you could bring it to me 🙂
All in all, things are good. Just trying to find time to do the things I want. Where does it all go?
