As some of you may know, every year for the last three years I have been hosting an Amazing Race style geocaching event called Moncton’s Race For Cache. Each year geocachers team up and go through the various stops on the race, either collecting clues from cache containers, or by completing certain tasks at the various vendors they visit on the race.
I am currently in the process of planning the event for this year (being held on August 13th) and have started working on the various tasks that cachers will need to take on. I thought it would be interesting to see if any of the readers here have any ideas of what sort of tasks cachers could be given on the race this year. I already have some idea of the things I want to do, but I’m always interested in getting new and fresh ideas from others.
Some sample tasks that folks have had to do in the past include:
- Drive a go-kart
- Eat sushi
- Find a CD/comic book
- Count light posts on a street
- Drink a gross drink
- Play skee ball / arcade games
- Shoot basketballs into a basket
- Find a set of coordinates in a newspaper
I have a couple of new ideas for this year that I hope to incorporate but I would like to solicit some suggestions from you folks for possible tasks that people can perform on this years race.
If you have any ideas, please feel free to post them as a comment. Keep in mind that the tasks have to be relatively simple to do as teams vary in age and athletic ability. Tasks can be challenging, but should not be overly difficult for individuals to accomplish.
