Week #194746 starts

I can’t honestly say that headline is true, but sometimes it feels that way.

The weekend went well. I did a pile of different things this weekend which included going to the musical ride at the coliseum. That was different. Not what I expected but those horses were pretty cool. It’s unfortunate that my allergies went nuts shortly into the show and by the time it was done, I could barely breathe. But I enjoyed it none the less.

I also managed to do a little more work with some video this weekend. One thing that is odd is the fact that when I capture video from my capture card, the files are huge, even though they capture as MPEG2, but when I run them through Ulead, it uses the same compression but compresses them down to about 10%-20% of their original size with no quality loss. I’m not complaining but it’s weird!

I haven’t even been at work for half an hour and we already had a problem hit. This time it was inadvertantly my fault. I came in on Saturday afternoon to try and upgrade a machine in here and it went all to hell. So I gave up and put things back the way they were and sure enough forgot one small detail. Thankfully, I was able to get us going again.

I was pricing DVD burners again this weekend and well, they’ve dropped below the $250 mark and I’m REALLY starting to get tempted to buy one. The price is finally right and although the blanks are a bit pricey, I suspect they will continue to drop as more and more people buy the DVD burners. I’ve been experimenting with NeroVision and last night I got WinDVD’s recorder software so I’m trying to find the best software to do what I have in mind. But at least it doesn’t appear to be too bad.

Anyway, I gotta go get a Coke and start my day for real…
