Today has hit home badly. Today was the first day I ever really had to deal with the whole “firing an employee” thing. I’m actually glad I wasn’t the person that gave the bad news, but none the less, it sucks
Basically the student I had here was not working out at all. He’s been here two weeks already and I was spending a lot more time checking on his work, and having to answer the same question half a dozen times, then doing my own job. I realize that the students are new and that they have to get used to a place, but you can tell pretty quickly what kind of person they are within the first few days. He wasn’t paying attention, and was really becoming a problem. I’ve had students here for all 3 years that I have been here and he was the first one I ever had a problem with. Nice kid, but he needs to focus a bit more on his work and learn to pay attention, as opposed to asking the same question over and over again. Sorry man!
So I got some advice from someone in management who suggested I call the school. The school insisted that he be removed immediately so he is no longer here.
I feel crappy about it. I didn’t have to give him the news but I was the one who called the school. It’s for the best but it still sucks
On a happier note, mom’s digital cable gets installed tonite so it will be nice to have good TV again. I can’t wait. But for now, I gotta go to work, so have fun!
